  • Wooden cutting board, Owl, black - birch plywood, Miiko design

Miiko's designer Sanna Paakki has drawn this wise and big-eyed Owl sitting on a tree branch. It observes its surroundings, detects even the slightest vibration in the darkening evening of the forest. Always ready to take silent flight at the right moment. According to beliefs, the owl can also see with its gaze what others cannot see. We believe it!

    Inspired by the Finnish forest

    Durable birch plywood

    Made in Finland

This wonderful owl is printed on melamine-coated, certified birch plywood. The surface of the board is black. The cutting board is durable and very smooth. The plywood used in the cutting board is made environmentally friendly from PEFC and FSC certified Finnish birch. In addition to traditional use, the cutting board is beautiful on its own or as part of compositions.

Bring a little Finnish fairytale forest into your own kitchen - for everyday and festive moments!

    Miiko's story

Miiko designs and manufactures wonderful Finnish products using soft deerskin, durable birch plywood and high-quality wool as materials. The selection includes deerskin bags and purses, kitchen and interior items and paper products. Under the leadership of designer Sanna Paak, products inspired by nature are created, with pure style, which are manufactured entirely in Finland. Sanna's beautiful and insightful design has been appreciated by e.g. Italian A'Design Award and Competition in the design competition, where the Väre pillow was awarded in 2016.

Sanna, the founder of Miiko, comes from a family with several generations of entrepreneurs. Sanna's grandfather and father have worked as shoe sellers, so leather is a natural material for Sanna to work with. Sanna's mother's side again comes with artistry and creativity. When these two skills were combined, Miiko was born. Today, Miiko also employs Sanna's four siblings, and with the strength and determination of these sisters, Miiko is taken forward from Tuusula.
