Bear, Erik Bruun

Artist Erik Bruun is an internationally known and award-winning Finnish graphic artist, whose beloved nature pictures now also decorate wood panels. The bear drawing from 1989 was created in Korkeasaari. " When the bear won the HS monthly supplement in the national animal selection, Juha Tanttu asked to draw it. I called Ilkka Koivisto to see if he had any good models in Korkeasaari. I wondered if I could draw it standing on two legs. I went in the morning just when the zoo had opened, and when I approached the bears, both young bears were standing . They wondered who would come. The position had been decided. " Erik Bruun says.
